Your choices at a glance
Core photo and video editing works without an account. Choosing media, editing, recording a voiceover, recognising speech with an installed caption model, and exporting take place on your device. Optional account features send the information described below to our service providers.
The current app has no active ad serving, in-app checkout or live AI generation. This policy does not represent those future features as available. We will update the policy and relevant disclosures before changing how those features handle information.
Photos, videos, audio and device permissions
You select photos and videos through Android's picker. Framivu stores local projects, editing instructions, thumbnails and working copies needed for your edits. The local editing and project-summary features do not upload your source photos, videos, recorded speech or full editing history to Framivu's account service.
Microphone access is used when you choose to record a voiceover. Notifications can show export progress. You can manage these permissions in Android settings; denying one may prevent its associated feature from working.
Exported media and backups you save remain in the storage location you choose. If you share a file, send a backup to a cloud-storage service, or contact support with an attachment, that is a separate transfer you initiate. The destination's practices apply to its copy.
Optional automatic-caption model download
If you choose to download the English speech-recognition model, Framivu requests a model file from alphacephei.com, the Vosk model host. The host receives your IP address and ordinary connection/request information to deliver that file. Your video or recorded speech is not sent with this download. Once the model is installed, speech recognition runs on your device.
Optional accounts and authentication
If you create or use an account, we process your name, email address, account identifier, verification status and account-access information. Supabase handles password-based authentication, email confirmation, password recovery and session information. Framivu's account service uses your profile and identifier to provide account features and administer access.
The app sends passwords to the authentication service over HTTPS when needed for sign-in or confirmation of a sensitive action. It does not save your plain-text password in its session storage. Persistent session tokens in the app are encrypted using an Android device key and excluded from Android backup.
Project details you choose to save online
When you select Save project details, Framivu sends the project's identifier, photo/video type, title, timestamps, last-edit label, favourite/deleted status and a randomly generated installation identifier. These records are associated with your account so you can view the saved summary for that installation.
This is a project summary, not a backup of your media. It does not upload the source files, their device locations, full editing history or editor settings through this feature. A deleted-status label in a saved summary does not itself erase the online record; saving updated details or deleting the account changes the server-side data.
Network, service and security information
When you use an online feature, the services handling the connection receive information such as your IP address, requested endpoint, request time, browser/app connection details and success or failure information. Account and hosting services may retain authentication, security and operational logs. We use account status, access records and rate limits to operate the service, investigate problems and protect accounts from abuse.
We use HTTPS for public account-service connections, access controls for account data, and encrypted session storage on the device. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or payment-card details in a support email.
Service providers and other recipients
Supabase provides authentication and the configured account database. Cloudflare hosts and protects the Framivu account API and website. Alpha Cephei provides the optional Vosk model download. Google Workspace handles email sent to our support address. These services process the information needed for their respective roles, including relevant connection information.
If you choose another app or service when sharing or backing up a file, that destination receives the content you select. Google Play separately processes information about downloading and updating the app under its own policies. Framivu does not receive your Google password or payment-card number through these activities.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect accounts, or establish or defend legal rights. Information may be processed outside your country through our providers; we do not promise that all processing occurs in India.
When you contact support
We receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer questions, troubleshoot and handle privacy or account-deletion requests. Share only what is necessary and remove private information from screenshots where possible. Support correspondence is handled through our monitored support mailbox.
How long information is kept
Local media, projects and exports stay under your device and storage controls. Removing the app does not necessarily remove exported files or copies you saved elsewhere.
Account profile information is kept while the account is active. Saved online project summaries are kept until replaced or removed through account deletion. When server-side account deletion completes, the login is removed, profile email and display name are cleared, and the account's saved project summaries are deleted.
A limited deleted-account record remains, containing a pseudonymous account ID, deletion status and update time. It prevents the account service from recreating a deleted profile from a stale request. Any existing purchase or credit records can retain limited pseudonymous bindings to prevent replay of refunded, revoked or deleted purchases; direct purchase tokens and encrypted customer details are cleared during deletion. Checkout is not active in the current release.
These remaining identifiers are not fully anonymous. The current service has no automatic expiry for the deleted-account record or any existing historical ledger bindings. Contact support to request review of retained information. We will explain any information retained and the applicable reason when handling your request.
Provider logs, authentication audit records, backups and support correspondence can persist beyond deletion from the active app database. Their retention follows the applicable service configuration, security or legal requirements, and any required restriction or deletion process. Deleting an account is not a promise that every provider log, backup or email copy disappears immediately. We do not claim a verified fixed expiry for every such copy.
Account deletion and privacy requests
You can request account deletion inside Framivu by opening Account, choosing Delete account and confirming with your password. The service may report that deletion is pending while it completes removal of authentication access. In-app deletion also clears the account's draft projects on the current device; it does not erase original gallery files, exported media, guest projects or copies on other devices.
You can also email [email protected] with the subject Framivu account deletion without installing or opening the app. Use the account's registered email address if possible. If you cannot access it, explain this so we can arrange proportionate ownership verification. A request being sent or received does not itself mean deletion has finished.
Our operational target is to complete verified email deletion requests within 60 days. Where applicable law requires an earlier response or completion, that shorter deadline takes priority. We will communicate the outcome, or explain a permitted delay and any information retained. Identity checks and legal exceptions are handled under the applicable rules; they do not automatically create a new 60-day period.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, restrict or object to processing of your information, withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing, or complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Contact [email protected] to make a request.
Children, teenagers and families
Framivu's intended audience includes children, teenagers and adults. The current app does not use age to limit access to its available features. The account, network and project-summary practices described in this policy therefore matter for younger users as well as adults.
Parents and guardians should review this policy and guide children when using online features, sharing files or contacting support. Core editing can be used without creating an account. The current release does not include age verification or a verified parental-consent process. Reading this policy, using the app or ordinary parental supervision is not a substitute for legally required parental consent.
A parent or guardian can contact [email protected] to ask about a child's information, request access or deletion, or report information submitted without required consent. We may need to verify the account and the adult's authority using only the information necessary to handle that request. We will address requests under the applicable children's privacy requirements.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Framivu's features or data practices change. The current version is published at https://framivu.com/app-privacy. Later app updates can include an offline copy; an older installed copy may not reflect a later service change. Material changes requiring additional notice or consent will need the corresponding process before they take effect.
For privacy questions and requests, contact Framivu at [email protected]. The separate website privacy notice describes ordinary visits to framivu.com.
